Ari's first pool incident

Ari took his first swim...well if you can call it a swim. We didn't intend for Ari to become submerged in Grandma Nancy's pool, he's just so slippery when he'd wet that Dad couldn't seem to hold onto him. I don't think Ari minded being submerged for .6 seconds, pretty sure the only reason he got upset is because his mother was screaming. Oops

Weekend Road Trip

Joe has been gallivanting around CA this past week doing field work so Olivia and I decided to pack up the kids and head out on a road trip. We took random less traveled paved and dirt roads from Solider Hollow to Loa Utah and back. Here are a few photos from the trip.

As you can see it was a little hard to take photos with no Joe to entertain Ari, so many of these photos are courtesy of Olivia.

The kids avoiding the camera.

Ari was not too thrilled with his bath in the tent.

We found the coolest little camp spot on Boulder Mt. The site was on the edge of an aspen grove that overlooked big sage brush flats where we watched antelope and livestock wander and even an eagle or two souring about. We had great views of the fish lake area, thousand lakes Mts., and the back side of Boulder. We didn't intend to camp in the snow, it was just there when we woke up. Luckily we stayed warm in spite of the 20 degree night.

Ari's Euphoria, camping AND a book.

A Duck Fetish

Ari has shown quite an obsession with ducks lately. His favorite block is the one that quacks, he loves his bath time rubber ducky, he squeals at the duck page in his animal book, and loves to stare at his inflatable duck bath. Today Ari kept wanting me to take him in his room, show him the duck bath and make it quack (he let's you know this by looking in a particular direction, in this case is room, and making cooing sounds white holding his arms out and rolling his wrists). I was in the process of making Ari a blanket and finally got really sick of him always wanting to see the duck bath. I finally brought the bath in the living room and put him and his books in there. He thought he was in heaven (Exhibit A below).

After awhile Ari figured out he could tip the duck on it's side and still look at books...after he discovered this there was no going back, he just wanted to sit in the duck bath on it's side, the photo looks like he's tipping over but he wasn't, he was just sitting like that. (Exhibit B below). I'm pretty sure he was using his hips...which means we might have a kayaker on our hands!

Ari is definitely starting to develop a personality, and it's pretty quirky...not to mention entertaining. He's 100% little boy, I can already tell were going to have our hands full with this one.

Goodbye Hair

Just prepared my hair for shipment. Feels so GOOD to have it gone, it's like my neck can finally breath again! Joe and Olivia did a fine job with the scissors.
